Design does Matter!  - Creating and sustaining a design culture
‘Design culture’ is in part the idea that design can permeate the DNA of a company and its modus operandi. Design works best when it operates holistically across an organization, in a way that plays nicely with other functions and approaches. In tandem with this, there are some tried and testing ways to foster design culture (like failing fast, envisioning products and services that people love through researching user needs, it also means giving teams the scope to discover and solve a problem through the process, creating multi-functional teams etc.) Examples from design leaders in an agency, a product start-up and an enterprise company about what design culture means to them, and how to make it real.

DESIGN YOUR BUSINESS SIMULATION BY QGLUE

What can we create today that will be essential tomorrow?

The “Design Your Business Simulation” allows you to explore and design your business in 90 minutes. The simulation will show the users tools and how to align values with organizational models, culture, propositions, business model and customer values and goals.

Teams compete and the participants undergo 9 stages. Participants start off by putting down company values, defining unit economics and every participant receives a role that mentions their role in the venture journey and they divide into the business side (Organisation) and the consumer(end-user).

Each team gets to choose a challenge, after understanding the values and purpose the group members share. The groups choose the challenges, and then start solving and innovating towards that. Facilitators are present throughout the process to help guide the teams and answer any queries.

The teams then prototype a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that innovates and solves for a real world need. The teams then present their MVP and business to everyone, with one clear winner.
The simulation is concluded with a debrief by the facilitators.

The simulation is based on combining the fundamentals of the Design Thinking methodology and Business Model Canvas. It's a great way to learn about the power of Design Thinking and Co-creation and integrate it to design a venture.

Design that doesn't scale, hurts!
Design that doesn’t Customer Experience Design is a crucial point while designing a product for your end user – This is something we are all familiar with. But for a country like India who’s population of a 1.3 billion, has just started trusting digital solutions, there are a lot of touch points businesses should keep in mind. Delivering an effective customer experience (custom made for India) is not an easy task. Managing interactions basis tech and non-tech factors is critical – in fact, it can make or break the relationship between your business and its customers. It all boils down to the extent to which businesses from India are willing to deliver a consistent and relevant customer experience across all touch points.

Beyond the screen: Service design in the age of Digital

What is service design and why should you care? What about user-centered design and all the UI/UX? Digital is a key touchpoint for the customer, however, successful delivery of delightful customer experiences is a multi-modal effort that involves your employees, partners, systems, and even brand. Great service experiences involve elegant orchestration of all the moments customers engage with your company, whether they are visiting a physical space, being attended to, calling a support number, or receiving an SMS alert.

In this session, we will understand the difference between service design and other design disciplines you might already be employing, and will check out tools that will help you see your customer’s entire journey with your service clearly, identify ways to make it more seamless and delightful, and unite your organization in delivering on this vision.
